ARCHBOLD — The Regional Science Fair was held on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Northwest State Community College in Archbold. Many students from several area counties presented their projects for evaluation second place in the physics and astronomy category The two-day event, which kicked off Monday, had 186 students present individual and team projects to be considered to move on to an international competition in Harrisburg, said Ben Smith, director of the fair and a physics teacher at Red Lion Area High St. Mary Catholic School participated in the Diocesan Science Fair. St. Mary Catholic School entered 14 projects and won 5 awards. Elizabeth Johns placed 1st and Logan Russell placed 3rd in Botany/Zoology; Jenna McCorvy place 3rd in Physical Science The 82 young leaders presented 65 different science fair projects for the 19 th annual St. Clair County Pine River Elementary School, Grand Award in Physical Science, That’s Using Your Head • Ryan Hart, 5 th Grade, Pine River Elementary School A group of Pennsville Township Middle School students were announced "Best of Fair" during the 2015 DuPont-Salem County Science physics, chemistry and creativity. The 25 judges had a lot to look at this year while deciding on the placement of student But the people gathered on the lawn of the University of Texas at Brownsville were cheering and clapping as the announcer boomed out the science and engineering projects and compete in categories ranging from animal sciences to physics and more. .
Friendswood Junior High students placed in the Galveston County Science and Engineering Fair projects and received certificates. These students are Kaitlyn Smith in Behavioral/Social Sciences, Blake Propst in Engineering, and Austin Cloyd in Physics After taking a couple of hours to walk through the forest of tri-folds and look at all the projects Science and Engineering Fair, which will be held in Pittsburgh later this year, said Ben Smith, event organizer and Red Lion physics teacher. Science Fair exhibit boards filled with knowledge lined the upstairs hallway. The chosen projects from Earth Science, Life Science and Physical Science were displayed in a variety of ways; words (and bridges) made out of Legos, working models, charts and Portville science teacher and fair organizer chemistry, physics and college-level forensics. “It was really neat to see the students who were really working hard and see the other students feeding off that as they continued with their projects.” .
