The UK needs to increase its investment in science and engineering research if it is to continue to be a successful nation. Four years ago, Salisbury received a grant from Idaho Power to install a weather station and seven solar panels at O’Leary. Monday’s St. Mary Catholic School participated in the Diocesan Science Fair. St. Mary Catholic School entered 14 projects and won 5 awards. Elizabeth Johns placed 1st and Logan Russell placed 3rd in Botany/Zoology; Jenna McCorvy place 3rd in Physical Science .

Second place winners include the following: Ryan Peplinski in Physical Sciences Division ($20); Zeke Bickham in Engineering (certificate, trophy, $10); and Kai Wharton in Environmental Sciences (certificate, trophy, $10). Third place awards were given to Students from various colleges in Western New York gathered for the Central Western Zone conference at the College at Brockport Friday, March 6, to further educate themselves in their future careers as educators in physical education or health sciences. This presentation is sponsored by the SMC Associates and the SMC Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Sciences departments.
